Join us for Working Waters: A Maritime Mural for Mariners Harbor, a free waterfront celebration featuring live music, local artists, maritime storytelling, youth art activities, and painted steel planters inspired by Staten Island’s working harbor and shipbuilding history. Visitors can experience tugboats and active harbor views up close while exploring art and exhibits celebrating the legacy, labor, and culture of New York Harbor. Open to all ages.

These programs highlight wetland ecology, climate resiliency, terrapin conservation, and Freshkills Park - NYC’s most ambitious park transformation and the world’s largest landfill-to-park project.

Experience a day of waterfront exploration at the National Lighthouse Museum during Signals Across the Harbor. This free City of Water Day mini festival features interactive activities, connecting communities and wildlife to New York Harbor. The museum and waterfront promenade are fully accessible with flat, single-level pathways, and nearby public parking is available in St. George near the Staten Island Ferry terminal. Some vessel activities may have mobility limitations. All ages welcome.
